The Swan Food Project helps support more than 200 swans in a sanctuary created in the 1980s by the City Council and the Cathedral on the Severn in Worcester. There is little natural food in the river. The Project organises the purchase of sacks of swan food for local people and fills small bags of floating pellets for sale in City outlets. Our profits and fundraising buy mixed corn for a daily feed, and provide information boards and leaflets to help people understand and enjoy the swans at the heart of our City. We liaise with rescue organisations when swans are sick or injured.
