Kidscan - Children's Cancer Research is one of the UK's only charities solely dedicated to finding safer treatments for children with cancer. 1 in every 500 children will be diagnosed with cancer and of those who survive, 60% will be left with devastating side effects including hearing loss, bone deficiency, infertility and secondary cancers - all caused by the treatments used to save them. Based across from the University of Salford, we fund research to find gentler treatments for children's bodies. Our ultimate aim is to ensure that every child diagnosed with cancer can survive and thrive through to adulthood.
