Fin & Fur is a family run pet store that was originally created in 1972, so it has been in existence for 47 years with 30 of these years locally, which was celebrated at their Thorley shop in the Summer of 2019.

Charities supported include Grove Cottage, Herts Hogline and Essex & Herts Air Ambulance.

These Charities are meaningful to the staff at Fin & Fur as they have links between their customers and close relations connected to the business.  Some of their customers have children who are supported by Grove Cottage and it is a charity very close to their hearts.  They have an ongoing connection with Herts Hogline being specialists with animal food and wellbeing.  Due to the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance saving a close family member’s life, they love to support this very worthy cause.

Fin & Fur are keen to give back into the Community and they are very much connected with their customers around Bishops Stortford.

Our Roving Reporter & Volunteer Ursula, loved meeting with Karen Cooper, Owner for a quick overview of their super successful pet store and was particularly excited to be in attendance during their 30th celebrations, where she also met Karen’s son Dan.  She was happy to discover too that Karen owns a miniature Schnauzer, who is 13 years old and called Skye.  Ursula received some very valuable advice and suggestions to feed her own pet – a tuxedo kitty called Padme, who is now very content with her new nutritious food from Meowing Heads.
