We are a village primary school situated in rural Dorset. Our PTA is made up by a small group of parent volunteers that are dedicated to raising funds that help support the school. We have an open door policy, where parents and families are actively encouraged to come into the school and where everybody is made to feel welcome. We are committed to providing high standards of learning for all children, following a varied and engaging curriculum.
Having the opportunity of being a feature cause on TheGivingMachine is fantastic news for us all at Shillingstone Primary School. We have been working hard to raise donations through our online shopping and TheGivingMachine has given us the chance in generating extra funding for our PTA to provide equipment, facilities and educational trips for our children.
We are very excited about the donations we have raised and are really looking forward to generating more funds to enhance our children’s learning and environment. So far, with the help of our PTA we have paid for a Mathletics subscription for every child in the school. This engaging online maths program enables our teachers to support the children’s mathematics learning, with hundreds of lessons and activities, Mathletics is an online learning tool that brings out the joy in learning.
The other resource we are trying to raise money for this year is a PA system and loud speakers for our school hall, this will make it possible for the children to listen to music when they come into class assemblies as well as help with the whole school nativity and individual class productions.
It’s fantastic news that TheGivingMachine can help us raise even more valuable donations by becoming a feature cause, it’s the children who benefit directly from the money we raise. We are pleased to be working in partnership with TheGivingMachine and GivingLottery to raise as many donations as possible which will enable us to enrich the learning and development of our children.
Being November's cause of the month is fantastic news for our school and the PTA, we are so grateful to be given this opportunity! Thank you!
